TITLE: Car #06 leads Daytona race & finishes 13th
DATE: 02/16/2009 17:48:15

BODY: Barry Fitzgerald in PetersonMotorsports #06 TheBusPlace.com FORD Fusion started 40th and survived the first half of the race. Berry lost the rear end axle while leading lap 36. We lost a few laps making repairs and moved up from 29th place to finish 13th. Berry work on drafting and passing when he could build up momentum. The team had a good race pitting early for gas only (pulled some tape & inspected tires) and for gas & right side tires under caution 2/3 into the race (after making repairs on the other end of pit road).  Barry had a good clean race weaving around and through each accident. Great Job Berry and all the Team.

</span> The #06 stripped a rear axle to wheel drive plate coming out of the pits late in the race. This allows the axle turn without the wheel turning, so the car stops pulling. Tim was running in the top 20 when it broke. Long time friend Tony Hawn along with Jesse Hawn, Larry Benson and Gates Ouimet, all from Ontario Canada, helped crew the cars at Cayuga Speedway.  They did a great job and we want to thank them all.  </span>

Car #06 is back on track.  Handling and corrner speeds are a little better, but we lost severial laps.  We have to stay down if we get passed and the bottom groove at Iowa is almost flat and causes the car to push. Tim has to slow down in the turns to keep form pushing up into the car on the outside.  This kills our lap speed.
